Mick Trouble

Any fans on here?
I thought that last years album 'Here's The Mick Trouble LP' was great and there's a big Dan Treacy/TVP's influence.

Re: Ed Ball / The Times tribute album

It will be well worth the wait going by the few tracks I've heard from it.

My bands version of 'Mill Hill' is getting a very limited vinyl pressing and will be out on 7 inch in a couple of weeks on Red Star Recordings.

The debut album from Les Grys-Grys.
I very much doubt I'll hear a better album this year.

Ed Ball / The Times tribute album

My band just finished our recording last week of Ed Ball's 'The Mill Hill Self Hate Club' which is set for release on a tribute album to Ed Ball via The Beautiful Music record label in Canada. Not one for doing a carbon copy of the original we have mixed the song with a couple of other tunes. I thin...

Re: Whatisdoneisdone

Someone claimed that Ed was at the Dan Treacy benefit show. But if he was he didn't get up on stage and I didn't spot him in the crowd but then it was pretty packed in the 100 Club that night.

Whatisdoneisdone

I finally got round to picking up the Teenage Filmstars 3 albums on 2 CDs this week - 'Rocket Charms/Buy Our Record Support Our Sickness/Bring Back The Cartel' (Artpop! 1211) which came out in 2009. Must admit though that I don't like it as much as Ed's solo albums or The Times but I did notice on t...

Edward Ball - Catholic Guilt (1st promo)

One that I never knew about. It seems that the year before it's official release some promo copies of Catholic Guilt' were released with a different track listing to the finished album and also a different sleeve. I don't suppose that anyone has a copy of this that they would like to sell? https://w...

(There's A) Cloud Over Liverpool - LP/Comp

One that appears to be missing from the Ed Ball discography is the Teenage Filmstars comp '(There's A) Cloud Over Liverpool. This came out in Spain back in 2014 and features 12 tracks in total and was a vinyl only release. There's more info over on Discogs - https://www.discogs.com/Teenage-Filmstars...

Re: Gig chat

Oh wow. That band name rang a bell. I clicked on the link and saw the photos. "Hmm, they look very familiar" I thought. Checking my archives, I realised why. My band played a gig with them in Leeds on 29th October 2010. It was upstairs at the Cardigan Arms (a Johnny GoGo promotion). They were the f...

Well, I have to say that that gig was well worth the trip down from Middlesbrough. The 100 Club was packed out and it was such a great night.
