Post by Keg » Wed Dec 19, 2007 5:02 pm

Officially released in January 2008, but it looks like the first of two 7" singles to be released by Elefant Records of Madrid is available to order now:

The Good Anarchist / She's Always Been There For Me (ER-256)

Here's what the Rough Trade shop has to say about it....

http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_det ... sku=295288

"this single is the first new material from the television personalities since the 2006 domino album 'my dark places'. the a-side 'the good anarchist' is a delicate almost folky number with dan treacy just gently strumming his guitar with a female vocal. the flip is the real winner. 'she's always been there for me' is a dan treacy penned 60's style stomper with his emotional vocals riding on top of some terrific hammond organ. upfront copies of this limited 7" only on elefant that's not out until february 2008."

They're in Greece, so it was probably quite warm.

Review of The Good Anarchist by Norman Records... http://www.normanrecords.com/

Image This record left our minger feeling happy.

"Television Personalities: 'The Good Anarchist' (Elephant) 7" single is a slow-motion crawl of a song that takes in an achingly strummed and picked acoustic guitar, paired witha slightly off tune extra fragile vocal that tales off at the end with an off-the-cuff spoken comment in the run-out. This is lo-fi, DIY music of the highest order, more about the sentiment and attitude. Yeah, we know they're an old punk band. Twee is punk too."
